Dangerous substances in other oils
Researchers at De Montfort University in the UK have shown that frying in vegetable oils is detrimental to health (see study). When heated, toxic chemicals are released: aldehydes. These can promote the development of stomach ulcers, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and even dementia.
Scientists have studied various oils for more than 20 years, such as lard and vegetable oils. It turned out that fish or chips, which are foods generally fried in sunflower or corn oil, contain up to 200 times more harmful aldehydes than the allowed daily limit set by the World Health Organization.
What oils are harmful? British researchers advise against using products that contain polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as sunflower oil or corn oil. At the same time, they recommend lard, butter, olive oil, and especially coconut oil for frying.
Why uses lard
For years, people have been urged to abandon lard and butter, as they are so high in calories. However recent studies have shown that they should not be excluded from the diet. On the contrary, the proper use of these can be beneficial to health.
Although lard and butter are recommended for long frying at very high temperatures, you should remember that this type of heat treatment is not recommended in the first place. Frying is the least healthy way to prepare meals.
Scientists emphasize that the number of fried foods in the diet should be reduced first. Second, if you decide to consume these types of dishes, it is better to use coconut oil, butter or lard for its preparation. Thanks to this, we will avoid large amounts of harmful aldehydes.
Moderation with lard

Researchers at De Montfort University are convinced that we should change the recommendations on the use of fats. The test results are sufficient to convince you to fry with butter or butter, and that it is not recommended to use vegetable oils.
